The JourneyPosted by plongley87 on April 8, 2013 Blog | | One comment
As most of you know, we ended 2011 with a bang, playing an amazing show with our friends Rebelution. The crowd was amazing, fun was at an all-time high and the stage was HUGE! This epic way could only set the tone for what is in store for 2012.
We are now ending off the first month of 2012 and I personally could not be happier with where we are. We started the year with a run through southern California and the support was huge from our friends/fans through San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Hermosa Beach and San Diego.
For me, it was one of the most fun times I have had on the road. The solid crowds, the good weather, Venice Freak show, and the awesome new friends we have met, has made this tour one I will remember for the rest of my life.
Out of the many positive outcomes from our first tour of 2012 is that it was our last tour having to rent from Uhaul!!!! Yes world, Thrive finally has a van and trailer set up of their own and as any independant band would know, this is a huge accomplishment!
We were able to take our new trailer on its first adventure last weekend to play the California Roots Winter Mix Up in Monterey, as well as a benefit show in Gilroy.
Though the weather was not up to par, the shows were still as much fun as ever and we could not be happier to support our local scene alongside many great local bands.
Though shows have been a huge part of our lives the past few months, the boys of Thrive still find time to pursue our other passions. Erik has been pumping out incredible electronic beats under his name Clerik.
Scottie has been pushing his charity Unify to Thrive harder than ever putting a new video out this week to really show what the cause is all about. I could not be more proud of my brothers in Thrive and I am positive there will be more of this to come.
Next week we are back on the road, doing a three-day run with Tribal Seeds on February 1st-3rd. The tour will start in Santa Barbara, go to Modesto and end in front of our Bay Area family in San Francisco. We truly hope to see all of our friends/fans out there and seriously people, DON’T BE SHY!! We love to meet and hang out with our new/old fans alike, so come say what’s up!
Once again we all appreciate the support with all our hearts and could not be doing what we love without the love and support from you guys. I will be back soon with more stories from our journey, and as always KEEP THRIVING!!
